Milou & Douglas week-end stay at Häringe palace..........

Mummy & I love visiting castles for short stays and this week-end we headed to Häringe Palace with my friend Douglas and his Mummy..........

Car is packed and we're ready to hit the road for a luxurious week-end at Häringe Palace. Judging by the boot you'd think we are going away for a week :)

Yey.........we're here! What a grand entrance........

Häringe Palace, built in 1657, is today a lifestyle hotel with a long history of glamorous, decadent and eccentric history. All sorts of whimsical characters have been magically attracted to the palace......so it was high time for me & Douglas to make our entry. As the elegant creatures we are no one could have fitted in more beautifully than us.......perfect environment for whippets!

Super nice room and me & Mummy thought the bed was heavenly!

Checking out the Palace. Dogs have always been very welcome and are allowed in all the dining rooms and parlors. There is even a special dog menu!

I think I'm going to like it here Mummy!

Not too sure about this chappy........I did some sniffings on him but he didn't react or give me a pat. Perhaps he was scared of me.........

Now checking the outside surroundings..........

Lovely pool, now empty ......and Mummy said we'll  have to come back during the summer for afternoon tea on the terrace.

Things are getting better by the second......a pond with DUCKIES!!!!!!!!!!!
Please come a bit closer..............

Soooooo close....yet not close enough. Mummy is such a spoil sport who didn't let me say HELLO!!!!

Häringe Palace is in the midst of a natural reserve with wonderful walks.........

Me & my wee mate Douglas..........we make a good team!

Please meet Max and Chantal, they left Paris to move to Häringe Palace!

We are now more than ready for afternoon tea!

As Douglas and I entered the lounge for afternoon tea the staff got all "star struck" and immediately consented to us lying on the antique sofas. Only the best for us whippets!!!!
Here we are eyeing up our neighbour friend.........
........and LOOK at the scrumptious afternoon tea they have been served. Can't wait for ours!

...........and here it is!!!!! I swear to God, that our Mummies were drooling at the sight of this!

Douglas.........the boy that has a Mummy that loves him more than life itself.
Not hard to see why...........

Sorry Douglas......I know we're mates but sometimes wee fellas have to give way for the "oldies".
But you seem ok down there on the floor.........

This is pure bliss. Am I dreaming? If so, please DON'T wake me up!!!!!!

But now we're all on and have moved ourselves down to the wine cellar.........our Mummies want to browse the wines for the evenings dinner!

Please let me introduce Douglas - our Sommelier at Häringe Palace. He will guide you through our world class wine collection and give some suggestions for this evenings dinner.

Beautiful early evening........

Heading home to our rooms for some rest.......

Mmmmm............LOVE the bed!

I'm visiting Douglas and we are eating yummy biscuits in bed!!!!!

YES Douglas........we know you are deadly cute. No need to show off all the time!

Awwww.........we're almost doing snuggles together on the bed.

Zzzzzzzzz.............

Good morning Milou........rise and shine!!!!!
Zzzzzzz...........more snoozings please!

Short walk before breakfast......

Knock, knock, knock.......room service for Milou Whippetsson!!!!!
Breakfast today is scrambled eggs, ham, turkey and dried pebbles - ENJOY!!!!!

Munch, munch, crunch, munch........this was super delicious!!!!!!

What was that Mummy.....? Oh, you wanted me to strike a pose. Ok, here's one!!!!!!

Walkies after breakfast......Mummy found a closed in area in the Palace grounds and let me off the leash!

Tjohooooo!!!!!!!!! What ya got there Douglas!

I'm a notorious "escapee". For most people I'm known as Milou Whippetsson but I also have another name: Milou the Hunter! I want to run free, I want to hunt.....I always look for a way out!

...........all that prey on the outside, and me stuck in here........life's unfair :(

...........ohhh my goodness, I'm on to something, the scent of deer in my nostrils!!!!!! My hunting mode has rushed from "level moderate" to "level extreme"!
Damm this leash.......

.........and the moments gone. Two deer jumped out on the path ahead of me and then took off across the field, running with their white botties bouncing up and down.....almost teasingly. Will luck ever be on my side? One day...... perhaps one day the leash will finally break. Imagine the feeling.......me taking off at full speed, going hell for leather, deer botties nailed by my vision. Bye Mummy, see ya later.......perhaps!

Sadness in my face.........today was not a good one for "Milou the hunter".

Douglas on the other hand is NOT restrained by a leash. Cause he's a goodie good boy and stays close to his Mummy!

GO Douglas GOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!

...........and quickly back to Mummy again!
If that was me I'd certainly be taking a different direction!!!!!

Heading back to the Palace ready to head off home.........

Bye bye Häringe Palace! Thank you for making me & Douglas so welcome. We've had an awesome stay!

The sign says:
Drive carefully and please visit us soon again!
.......and we will! That's a promise.

  1. Wow, that's a royal vacation. As foor the hunting, I know the feeling, my servants also don't trust me in the forests and the fields. But that doesn't mean I don't catch a rabbit from time to time, even on the lead

    1. Well you are lucky........catching a rabbit on the lead is pretty impressive!!!! The only thing I've caught on the lead is a RAT! And the rat actuallty jumped into my mouth from a hedge. I was walking nicely with Mummy along the pavement and suddenly a RAT jumps out from hedge and all I did was open my mouth and SHUT IT. Mummy screamed LET GO Milou.........LET GOOOO!!!! But I didn't.....so the rat died. Mummy was in shock and so was I!!!!!

  2. Daddy says some rabbits are really stupid and hide behind a bush of grass and hope we don't see them. Today it was actually a hare. That's the first time we catch that. Daddy didn't see the hare, but we three suddenly jumped in the bushed (we're on long leads) and after a short scream, we came back we a hare.
Funky once killed a rat in the garden. That was very brave of him. So I can imagine you were shocked when the rat attacked you.
I also hate herons. There is one that tries to steal the fishes from my pond. When I see him, I scare him away. Mommy likes that.
Now I have to feed my puppies, so I have to wish you goodnight
